Eagles Win 8+ This Season?

The Eagles already surprised us last year with using the number 2 pick in the draft last year grabbing quarterback, Carson Wentz. The was just the beginning, Wentz took on his rookie season by storm, with a 62.9 % completion, throwing for 3,782 yards and 14 TDs. Although the Eagles QB made such promising strides, he lacked the help he needed in order to take the team to playoffs and beyond.

The Eagles evaluated those lose ends in the progressing 2016 team and looked to the 2017 NFL draft to correct those lose ends. grading out at a B+ with their draft picks, I would say the Eagles choose well. Starting with their 1st round pick DT, Derek Barnett. Who was recognized for breaking legendary Reggie White’s record at the University of Tennessee. Round 2 picking snatching Washington’s Sidney Jones, whom is said to have a solid recovery. Round 3, West Virginia’s sizable cornerback, Rasul Douglas, standing at 6’2 209, someone who can compete with the big receivers out there. Round 4 they gave Wentz another big target, North Carolina’s Mack Hollins, who is 6’4 221 and ran a solid 4.53. Lastly, also in the 4th round Eagles grabbed San Diego State running back and FBS leading rusher with 6,405 yards, Donnel Pumphrey.

To top off their 2017 draft picks, the Eagles just capitalized on a free agency opportunity, signing former Patriots running back, LaGarrette Blount! Blount was a leading running back in the NFL for the Patriots last season with 1,161 rushing yards and 18 touch downs! Many people claim that his success was due to be apart of the Patriots team, which I am guessing may fuel his fire to do just as well or better with the Eagles. With the Eagles new key pieces to their offense, reasonable draft picks, and the potential of their veterans, I see the Eagles taking on an 8+ win season for 2017!
